Working on new films to project into spaces and onto things. Stills of burning books from the latest film. 2 truly great sessions at Snape as part of the Festival of the New. Highlights included Sonnen https://www.instagram.com/sonnenmusic/?hl=en with their great knob twiddling sounds and Thabo https://open.spotify.com/artist/0Xby6OpjBTxkbiGyhJU8RA a whole experience in a tent. They both created great vibes and were really nice people into the bargain. Onto screens - it took until the 5^th episode to work out the tone of The Chair – it’s a cartoon and when that’s established in the mind it moves from a what? to an ok? Our Ladies – I think I may have missed the point of this and found it not so good. Deep into Mr Corman and enjoying the male position on dealing with life and stuff!

Light and water - reading and thinking. sitting and talking. cooking and eating. After contributing to the vast newly manifested private wealth machine, and hacking through the forest of opaque ever changing rules we were thoroughly tested and armed with a handful of paperwork to finally find ourselves in beautiful Croatia. This holiday it appeared that reading took a back seat to sitting, swimming and boating but I did manage a few - There's no such thing as an easy job - kikuka Tsumura. truly odd is the best description, but in a good way. A short account of the destruction of the Indies - Bartolomeo de las Casas. just endlessly oppressive as the list of atrocities build up as the bodies pile up. You do have to question humanity. Broken Greek a story of chip songs and pop songs - Pete Paphides. a glorious time travel of a book, I laughed out loud continuously as I was reminded of the past in such an incisive way.  This is a must read for 45-60 year olds or for those of us transform by the music of the 70s and were there when the earth was moved by a man wearing dungarees!

I've been thinking about the films made with 3D printing - projecting them in an empty and abandoned buildings. The spaces provide a new context and projecting them feels like you are in dialogue. I am thinking about and making new films with a view to where they might be projected. onto screens – Stillwater – slow twists with Matt at the helm. The Courier - slow twists with Benedict at the helm.

After the 20 minute take down of the show HERE, @theart_station I spent some time in the exciting spaces around the building projecting films and then documenting them. I've been creating 3D printed structures that constrict the movement of the fingers. The restrictions look to control and manipulation. The rawness of their design and the play within the videos are interesting but the next stage is to incorporate the ball and joint and hinged structures into bookwork structures. Onto screens - I am your man – deep underlying sadness yet beautiful. Night of Kings – truly magical storytelling. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8132778/

The roughly polished poured concrete floor at imprints galerie https://imprints-galerie.com/ reminds me of the images created by Charles Wilson in a cloud chamber of charged and uncharged responding to a magnetic field. Similar images were created from the work around the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. https://imprints-galerie.com/ The current show has examples of the stunningly beautiful/clever work by Doris Erbacher her work really is intriguing, especially the drawings.  http://www.doris-erbacher.de/ There is always something about doors in Crest that fascinates. They belong in the category - 'otherness in the everyday'. A feeling or way of being that is something akin to the childlike fascination experienced when one encounters a phenomenon for the first time. Keeping that feeling going is the key to creative thinking and making. I call it ja de vue. In the town the plane trees shed their bark in such a way as to suggest new camo design possibilities. Something to work on later maybe. So much amazing food to think about - from the market stalls on a Saturday that make up a great ‘market lunch’ to the iles flottantes (quite possibly the top sweet ever)!! in my favourite restaurant in Montelimar, unfortunately it wasn't boudin noir 'season' but cayette is always a winner and there is always extraordinary cheese!  The centre des arts had a great show of objects presented by individuals in the community to celebrate the past - so many wonderful pieces but my favourite was a leaflet showing firework explosive patterns. As ever the otherness of a place gives the opportunity to add loads of new images to the ever-expanding file labelled 'odd/interesting pattern and signage'. The great sadness is that the miniature museum in Montelimar is no more – there was an exhibition of puppets from a world famous puppet troop – great if you like that sort of thing but mainly just creepy.

continuing the work with 3D printing – the articulated structures are tricky, and the printing is mesmerizing, building structures within the structures is a real test. onto screens - 6 feet under continues to be disturbingly glorious, the current war – how to make an interesting subject dull.
